Today, while enjoying a stroll in the sunshine, I happened upon a clearance sale in a record/cd shop I had not seen before. Amongst the dross were a couple of quite interesting bargains which I picked up, saving as I did so.
The first one was not, technically, a book but a set of postcards from Penguin depicting well known covers over the years.
Secondly was a tome, of coffee-table proportions, which I have been interested in acquiring for a while – Kevin Cummins’ book of photos of Manchester and her music scene. For those too young to remember, Cummins was an NME photographer who documented many important years of music, here returning to his home city to shoot some memorable scenes and faces.
