Pics of the Day to lift the winter gloom

I was just flicking through some old ride photos from last year in iPhoto and I came across these, which I thought I would post today in order to try and lift the winter gloom that is  steadily becoming more intense.  They are from May last year, when I did a long ride up to Attleborough in Norfolk.  On the way back to Suffolk, you pass Redgrave Fen, which is a rare pocket of untouched natural beauty that is home to some very unusual creatures, including the Great Raft Spider, which is very rare in the UK and is native in Redgrave.  Just looking at these photos makes me shiver with excitement that the warmer, sunny weather is only months away [though it will no doubt feel like forever!].  The leaves are bursting out on the trees, the sun is reflecting off the water, and you can almost feel the warmth in the breeze.  Cycling in shorts and jerseys! No more ice!  After a winter of cycling with gritted teeth, I can’t wait!
