Paul Kimmage, reading for those wet and icy days

My long time cycling buddy Mark lent me a book last week by Paul Kimmage, entitled ‘Rough Ride’.

Rough Ride

Published years ago – in 1990, the strapline is that he found cycling at a pro level:

“it wasn’t about glory and courage, and it wasn’t about how much training you put in or how much you wanted to win. It was about gruelling defeats, complete and utter exhaustion, and it was about drugs”

Looks like interesting reading and a book which is still as relevant today as it was 20 years ago when doping was rampant in the sport.

Further reflections when I have read the book!  And with that I hope to get out on the bike this afternoon now the big thaw has finally happened!
