Kellogs Tour 1991! And Jimmy Savile!!!

After writing some weeks ago about my ‘memory lane’ trip up Holme Moss, I have been searching for those old B&W photos I referred to of the Kellogs Tour Of Britain when the race passed over the Moss.  Well, I’ve found them!!

So, without further ado, here we go, starting with a shot of the club contingent at the Fleece inn at the bottom of the northern ascent (these guys were from Selby CC if I remember correctly, look at the jerseys of the guys with their backs to the camera):

Club riders congregate at the Fleece in Holme

This is followed by a couple of pretty irrelevant ‘mates at the top of ‘Moss’ pictures:

Following this, a picture of the car park at the top of the hill, look how dated pictures of cars are!!

Then the one I was really desperate to find – the lead car, with guess who standing up out of the sunroof!!

Now then, now then, now then!!

Now then, now then, now then!!

Unfortunately, the pics I got of the actual peloton were damaged during development and are not of a decent enough quality to post up here.  Ho Hum!  Finally, the club riders going home once the race has passed:

Go home now, there's nothing more to see!

and a final pic of no relevance to most people, your truly having returned to ‘Uddersfield, posing in front of crappy student house in ridiculous early 90’s hardcore t-shirt!

Cool is the word!!

That’s it!
